Holistic Counseling in Oregon
About: Danièla
Background and Influence
Over the years, I’ve sought out and continue to learn from practitioners in a variety of traditions that compliment traditional therapy, including shamanism, traditional and spiritual herbalism, Mahayana Buddhism, Jungian therapy, and yogic and energetic practices.
These teachings, alongside scientifically-backed modalities, continue to shape and enrich the way I approach therapy today.
Therapeutic Style
My style is deeply informed by Jungian depth psychology and Eastern philosophical practices, which form the foundation of my work.
In session, this translates to the integration of mindfulness, symbolic exploration, and a respect for the unconscious, with the option of weaving in somatic, herbal, and spiritual practices when supportive.
I also utilize behavioral and relationally based approaches, and tend to be psychoeducation heavy and directive--moreso in the beginning phases of therapy.
Education and Training
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, where I also studied International Politics.
I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy at Lewis & Clark Graduate School, with focused courses in Existential Therapy, Spirituality, Sex Therapy, EcoTherapy and Eating Disorders.
In 2015, I trained as a yoga instructor with a focus in Vinyasa and Ashtanga practices. Around the same time, I received my Reiki Master certification, deepening my commitment to energy-based healing practices.
A bulk of my knowledge on plant medicine was passed down from my abuelo (of both Mexican and Yaqui heritage), though I also apprenticed for a year at the Gaia School in a community herbalist program and have continued advanced studies in herbalism since then.
Further post-graduate trainings can be found under the Trainings and Experience section.
Random Facts:
My hobbies include interior design, b horror films, old records, riding horses, and taking home stray plants despite already having way too many. I am openly mixed race, gender fluid and part of the LGBTQ community
